July 14th, 2010

For those unfamiliar with the course at St Andrews, we have provided an interactive map of the links. Simply hover your mouse over the holes to find out more. We would be delighted to hear your views, more information about the course or thoughts on your favourite golf courses.

The most entertaining five responses submitted by the day of the final – Sunday 18th July – will be selected to receive a rather magnificent branded Bollinger full-size golf brolly, with our compliments.

  1. I would like a rather magnificent Bollinger golf brolly for my husband who will no doubt be watching the golf even if it is raining – hence the need for said brolly :-)

  2. Chris Harris says:

If Tiger Woods wins, will the press get off his back?

  3. duke says:

Great action, great golf cousre shame about the weather and the midges!!!!

  4. Peter Crennell says:

After a quick 18 holes at St Andrews, I felt rather under par.
Then I had a vision and headed for the bar.
I felt much more bubbly when I was in the tent.
Time spent with Bollinger is always time well spent.

  5. Alistair Forrest says:

If someone gets to 20 under par, will you open a nebuchadnezzar as an appropriate celebration?!!

  6. mr trevor griffiths says:

A Bolly brolly would rescue me from any more on course folly.

  7. Paul Maxwell says:

I would love to win this amazing prize – come rain or shine and lets face it its prob be rain so this would be a great win to have at hand when out watching the golf.

  8. phill carlisle says:

Lee Westwood has had a fantastic year. Lets get behind him and bring some pride to OUR open with an English winner. Come on Lee, we are all behind you!

Ahh! Sat beneath a rather magnificent branded Bollinger full-size golf brolly on the 18th with a glass of Bolly sharing (since 1829) with the wife… it’s almost 6:30 and its still raining!!

  10. jane says:

If you want blue skies in Scotland – go to the North East. Good courses all along the Moray Firth, which was advertised in the 1930s as ‘the riviera of the North’. Charlie Chaplin went every year for his holidays to Nairn, though for choice I would start at Banff and work my way along to Forres.

P.S. Can I please have the umbrella for when I go to the rest of Scotland?

  11. Patyricia Hofmann says:

The perfect accessory to sport whilst reading my book whilst my other half splutters and allows his frustrations to vent when he makes a less than perfect shot.

He really should relax with a glass of Bollinger it really does sparkle the day.

  12. Dawn Chapman says:

to be covered by bollinger, how luxurious!

  13. G.Wise says:

Great golf by Rory McIlroy – good to watch. Shame it has been so windy today that stopped play for awhile. The way the weather has been at St.Andrew’s a bolly brolly would come in handy!

  14. MICHAEL GIBSON says:

If 90% of accidents happen in the home, why don’t people get outside and play golf more?

  15. Alistair Forrest says:

Opening the Bollinger, sparkling and gleaming,
will soon have me St Andrews dreaming!

  16. karen turton says:

Rain falls here in Plymouth just as much as Scotland, so the brolly would be very handy…
For the golf you need to go to Scotland, its magnificent home.
P.S. husband has not moved from the settee all weekend, so I am making blackcurrent jam!

  17. Anne Orchard says:

Nigg Bay, a council run golf course in Aberdeen overlooks the harbour and is a wonderful location.A Bollinger umbrella would come in handy in this rugged location.

  18. Claire Nelson says:

I am not a golfer myself but many of my work colleagues and family love to play. For most of them their game can be summed up by the quote:
Golf is so popular simply because it is the best game in the world at which to be bad. ~A.A. Milne

  19. Irene Jackson says:

Shame I can’t be there in person to watch the final day’s play today. It’s looking good and i’m rooting for my favourite players Paul casey and Lee westwood.
